Affordable Housing

All the targets for providing affordable housing have been dropped in this draft.  Despite all the housing numbers there is no guarantee that there will be any money from the regional housing boards to provide social housing for nurses and teachers and the 2,500 people on the housing waiting list in South Beds.

To be able to afford a house in South Beds you now have to earn an average of £45,000 a year!  Building these new homes will not make it any easier for local young people to buy houses.  The main problem in the SE is that nurses , teacher, police etc cannot afford to live in London or Surrey and this is hindering the whole economy of the region.  Building these houses will not alleviate this problem at all.
